In a delayed sequel to the 2017 version of Murder on the Orient Express by Kenneth Branagh, the British actor and filmmaker return to act and direct the (somewhat) lesser-known Death On The Nile. It’s hard to think of one of the solid murder mystery movies and not have Agatha Christie’s inimitable Hercule Poirot come to mind. A wild weekend ensues with all the elements that make for a good murder mystery including a real murder (or two). With a star cast as fabulous as its three-year-old predecessor, Glass Onion opens with a series of mysterious boxes that turn up for a motley crew set of friends which turn out to be invitations to the home of tech billionaire Miles Bron (played by Edward Norton) to solve his hypothetical murder. Missing 2023 by the skin of its teeth, this mystery has all the fixins of 2019 American mystery film Knives Out bound together by Benoit Blanc, the private detective with his signature Kentucky Fried Foghorn Leghorn Drawl. ![]()
